Well NO S***! If the education system teaches people that 2 + 2 =5. OF COURSE THEY WILL GROW UP & IGNORE THE FACTS & RESIST THEM! THAT IS Precisely what the so called "education system" is teaching at the present time. AND THIS IS COMMON SENSE!!  NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH COMMON CORE/PC.

This officially answers the question as to why common sense is in FACT; not that common.
